WaveTec Vision selected to Top 100 North America Tech Startups

Red Herring, a global media company that covers high-technology innovation, has chosen WaveTec Vision to receive the “Red Herring Top 100 North America Tech Startup” award.

Aliso Viejo, CA-Red Herring, a global media company that covers high-technology innovation, has chosen WaveTec Vision to receive the “Red Herring Top 100 North America Tech Startup” award.

WaveTec was selected for its proprietary ORA System, which improves the precision of cataract surgery by offering customized premium lens placement to ensure patients have quality vision.

WaveTec was selected from among 3,000 tech start-ups financed each year in the United States and Canada. Red Herring’s editorial staff evaluated the companies for financial performance, technology innovation, intellectual property, management quality, business model, customer footprint, and market penetration.

“We believe WaveTec Vision embodies the vision, drive, and innovation that define a successful entrepreneurial venture,” said Alex Vieux, publisher and chief executive officer (CEO) of Red Herring. “WaveTec should be proud of its accomplishment, as the competition was very strong. In fact, we had the toughest time in years because so many entrepreneurs have crossed significant milestones so early.”

“This award is gratifying for the entire WaveTec team, which has put in a lot of hard work to bring this solution to the cataract surgery market,” added Tom Frinzi, CEO and president of WaveTec Vision. “It brings us full circle with the comments we hear from patients we’ve helped, and the cataract surgeons who are using our technology to improve lives.”
