This Week in Ophthalmology is a video series highlighting some of the top articles featured on the Ophthalmology Times website.

I am David Hutton of Ophthalmology Times. Welcome to another edition of This Week in Ophthalmology.

In this edition, we will revisit my conversation with Dr Carl Awh. Prior to the American Society of Retina Specialists meeting last week in Stockholm, Sweden, we discussed his presentation, titled Port Delivery System With Ranibizumab for Continuous Treatment of Diabetic Macular Edema: First Readout of the Phase 3 Padoga Trial Year Two Results.

In other news from ASRS, Richard B. Rosen, professor of ophthalmology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, was honored with the American Society of Retina Specialists’ Founders Award for 2024. He received the award at the 42nd annual meeting in Stockholm, Sweden, during a commemorative ceremony.

Rosen was given the award for his significant contributions to the advancement of vitreoretinal surgery, treatment, research, and patient care, as well as for his dedication to ophthalmology. He is the first ophthalmologist from Mount Sinai to receive the annual award.
