Paris—Lively and active discussion among some of the world's best refractive surgeons was the flavor of a refractive surgery panel discussion, held Sunday night following the day's sessions at the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons meeting.

The panel discussion, sponsored by Nidek, covered a range of topics in refractive surgery in a point/counterpoint format. Moderated by George Waring III, MD, the panel included Jack Holladay, MD, Damien Gratinel, MD, Paul Dougherty, MD, Steven Klyce, MD, and others.

The panel addressed new definitions and standards in refractive surgery, comparative clinical results of conventional versus custom treatment; presbyopia, hyperopia, and irregular astigmatism treatments with Nidek's NAVEX System; OATz, CATz, and OPDCAT Treatments; and clinical applications with Nidek's Final Fit Software.

Dr. Waring also presented the results of the U.S. clinical trials with the NAVEX platform.
