Nidek has granted Marco Ophthalmic exclusive rights to sell Nidek's newest fundus camera (AFC Non-mydriatic Retinal Camera) to the optometry market.

Fremont, CA, and Jacksonville, FL-Nidek has granted Marco Ophthalmic exclusive rights to sell Nidek’s newest fundus camera (AFC Non-mydriatic Retinal Camera) to the optometry market.

Nidek is pursuing FDA clearance of the new fundus camera. Joint distribution is planned once FDA clearance is obtained. According to Nidek, this enhanced collaboration between the two companies will fundamentally increase the ability to serve customers better.

“Our customers require more efficiency and diversification in our distribution channels. The best way to meet our increasing customer demand for this product is to focus each of our corporate resources in distinct market segments, ultimately to improve customer satisfaction,” said Motoki Ozawa, Nidek president and chief executive officer.

Nidek will continue to provide sales and service to the ophthalmology market, as well as service to existing customers.
