ASCRS committee tracks advances in the comprehensive clinic

The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) formed a Comprehensive Ophthalmology Clinical Committee to "stay abreast of the latest advances in technology, as well as diagnosis and treatment options for various issues that are seen daily in the comprehensive clinic," said ASCRS President Samuel Masket, MD.

Bernard Milstein, MD, will chair the committee. He is clinical professor of ophthalmology at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, and director of the Ophthalmic Laser Center in League City, TX.

Committee members include:

Emmett F. Carpel, MD--adjunct professor of ophthalmology, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis; department chairperson, Phillips Eye Institute, Minneapolis; consultant, Hennepin County Medical Center, Minneapolis; in practice with Health Partners, St. Louis Park and Bloomington, MN.

Gary J.L. Foster, MD--partner, Eye Center of North Colorado, PC, Fort Collins, CO.

Bonnie An Henderson, MD--assistant professor of ophthalmology, Harvard Medical School; director of comprehensive ophthalmology service, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Boston.

Michael F. Oats, MD--in practice with Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston for comprehensive ophthalmology on Cape Cod, MA; vice president, Physicians of Cape Cod, a multispecialty IPA representing 350 physicians.

Paul N. Orloff, MD--solo practitioner, New York City; associate clinical professor, New York University School of Medicine; attending surgeon, Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital, New York.

John D. Polansky, MD--private solo practice, Eugene, OR.

Paul L. Wright, MD--clinical associate professor of ophthalmology, University of South Dakota School of Medicine, Sioux Falls, SD.
