Transitions names 2006 Lab of the Year

Orlando-Toledo Optical, of Ohio, was named by Transitions Optical Inc. as the 2006 U.S. Transitions Lab of the Year during the 11th annual Transitions Academy at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resort on Jan. 27. The announcement was made before an international audience of more than 1,000 industry professionals at a recognition ceremony held to honor Lab of the Year finalists from four regions.

In the 16-year history of the award, Toledo is the only U.S. laboratory to be chosen twice for the distinction.

"We are really pleased to present this award to Toledo for the second time," said Carlos Perez, U.S. sales director, Transitions. "Their outstanding success is rooted in solid strategies: using innovative marketing tactics and education to create awareness and drive results. Toledo seizes every opportunity to leverage their partnership with Transitions for maximum impact."

The Lab of the Year title is presented to a Transitions Optical STAR Lab that has demonstrated a significant commitment to increasing its business with Transitions in the past year. Nominees are judged on their creative approaches used to achieve success for their businesses and their customers.
