Run raises $12,500 for Eye Bank Association of America
New Orleans-The 2007 Bausch & Lomb (B&L) Run for Vision, held during the American Academy of Ophthalmology annual meeting in November in New Orleans, attracted a record 253 participants and raised more than $12,500 for the Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA), a not-for-profit accrediting body for eye banks.

“We’re thrilled with the record number of runners and walkers who joined us to help fund eye-banking research and sight restoration,” said Jennifer Weischedel, race chairwoman and associate cataract product manager, B&L.
A Big Easy jazz band greeted participants, who were escorted on the 5-kilometer course by New Orleans Police Department vehicles. After remarks from Patricia Aiken O’Neill, JD, EBAA president and chief executive officer (CEO), the race was kicked off by Ronald Zarrella, B&L chairman and CEO.
