San Francisco-A practice-to-patient communication service from Smile Reminder helps vision-care providers communicate directly with patients by automatically sending text or e-mail messages.

Messages include appointment reminders, birthday greetings, e-surveys, and newsletters to returning patients and special promotions for new prospects. The messages are customizable and include branding elements such as a company’s logo and photographs, contact information, physician’s signature, and links to the practice’s Web site.

“Everybody is busy, doctors and patients included,” said Jim Higgins, chief executive officer, Smile Reminder. “Our technology bridges the gap to keep communication flowing and relationships vibrant.”
