Optos names new chief executive officer

Dunfermline, U.K.-Optos plc has appointed Thomas W. Butts as chief executive officer and a member of the board of directors.

Butts has more than 20 years of progressively senior international-level experience within the health-care sector. Most recently, he was the president and chief operating officer of IDX Systems Corp. He led the successful expansion of the IDX business, achieving more than $200 million in growth. Prior to his appointment to this position in 2004, he was president and general manager of IDX Flowcast.
