Cleveland-Ophthalmology Times magazine has been named a finalist in the 53rd annual Jesse H. Neal National Business Awards competition recognizing editorial excellence. The awards, which have been called the Pulitzer Prizes of the business press, are sponsored by American Business Media, an association of business information providers.

The 2007 competition recognizes work published between Dec. 1, 2005 and Nov. 30, 2006. Ophthalmology Times is a finalist in the Best News Coverage category-for coverage of the Fusarium keratitis outbreak among contact-lens wearers-and Best Single Issue of a Newspaper or News Tabloid category-for the Oct. 15 issue-among entrants with similar revenue from advertising and circulation.

More than 1,100 entries were received for this year's competition, and 102 of them were named finalists. Thirty-four awards will be announced and presented March 22 in a ceremony at the Waldorf=Astoria in New York City.
