Nidek introduces auto-refractometer-keratometer-tonometer

Nidek Co., Gamagori, Japan, has introduced the NIDEK RKT-7700-an all-in-one auto-refractometer, keratometer, and tonometer unit-at the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons meeting in Paris. The new unit brings together advanced and innovative technologies and solutions into one diagnostic platform, offering the first combination unit of its type in the industry, the company reported.

The new unit brings together advanced and innovative technologies and solutions into one diagnostic platform, offering the first combination unit of its type in the industry, the company reported.

The RKT-7700 is an advanced platform, combining the measurements of refractive power, corneal curvature and IOP. The new diagnostic platform is ideal for accurate and fast patient care in clinics and hospitals. The unique combination platform delivers space-saving capabilities, fast and accurate measurement times, a fully automated data acquisition process, and an extremely patient and user-friendly interface with advanced ergonomics.

The company also announced the worldwide launch of its ME-1000 Multifunction Edger with 3-D drilling and multi-functionality that offers a unique and state-of-the-art edger for optical dispensaries.

The company reported that the ME-1000 Multifunction Edger utilizes advanced drilling motors, robotic technology, and breakthrough precision software for controlling the precise and customized drilling angles. The unit also offers advanced versatility and innovative technologies, including the selection of drill diameters, drill angles, drilling long depths, drilling of "stop-facing" holes, engraving functions, and other features.
