Ha Noi hosts 20th annual Asia-Pacific Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons

Ha Noi, Vietnam-The 20th annual meeting of the Asia-Pacific Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (APACRS) began Sept. 29 in Ha Noi. The city is also alive with the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam National Institute of Ophthalmology and the annual meeting of the Vietnam Ophthalmology Society (VOS).

Ha Noi, Vietnam-The 20th annual meeting of the Asia-Pacific Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (APACRS) began Sept. 29 in Ha Noi. The city is also alive with the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam National Institute of Ophthalmology and the annual meeting of the Vietnam Ophthalmology Society (VOS).

Guest-of-honor Nguyen Quoc Trieu, Vietnam's Minister of Health, welcomed the delegates, highlighted the government's efforts, and acknowledged the contributions of ophthalmologists in the battle against blindness.

The meeting will last for 4 days with more than 900 participants from 22 countries joined by 400 Vietnamese eye doctors in an exchange of ideas.

Topics discussed at the meeting will include eye problems of all kinds, new technologies, and a quality scientific program.

The program will feature a scientific symposium, a live surgery session, and a unique joint plenary session that includes speakers from three major cataract and refractive surgery societies in the world: the APACRS, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
