Do ophthalmologists need to register their clinical trials?

Ophthalmologists who conduct clinical trials and intend to publish their results should follow these guidelines if they wish to be compliant with the International Council of Medical Journal Editors' (ICMJE) policy:

1) Register.
2) Do not register if you have a sound rationale to support your decision.
3) Contact the specific journal and ask for guidance.
